It's healing time

We have all came to a point in life. Where we felt pain in our hearts due to events that happened around us, or to us.

We have a bad habit of moving on but carrying baggage with us.
We need to refresh our mind. Take some time out and breathe.

When I say breathe I don't mean dwell in the pain. I mean give yourself a break. We tend to push our pain into the back of our minds as we refocus our energy into other places in our lives. Forgetting that we have to deal with the pain in order to really heal.
It's okay to let your friends know that you need time towards your self.

You have to feel the pain in order to change it. You have to understand the terms of a situation in order to not become that situation. You have to find away to forgive and heal.

If you don't you would either spend your whole life running away from dealing with the issues you have within yourself the pain would eventually control you. It would make you bitter, unhappy, depressed, fearful, and etc.

This is dedicated to our Black Youth.

Days goes by and we wonder why. After Trayvon this could happen another time. That someone figure that our youth isn't worth a future but they alway paint a picture that's so messed up to depict us.
We just try to live, like all the other kids. We to have a dream to make it, but the society we live in say we're worthless. Time doesn't make it better our ancestors fought for this the only thing that changed is it went from legal to illegal, or did it? Seems more like it when from being seen openly to low key. Getting shot in the streets instead of being hung/burn from a tree. There's no justice for us and it ain't nothing new. I could let these words flow together until my face turn blue. So let me educate you my fellow black youth. Cause our history book barely tell the truth.
See we come from a land that was ours they brought us here. We build America as it is with our blood, sweat and tears. Our ancestor overcame the odds of Oppression, Family Separation , Mental and Physical Mutilation and we still here. That's the problem that we still here if they could they would've killed us off back in those years, but here's the twist to it they needed us to live. Did I mention the Civil Rights movement? Is the reason why so many doors before us have opened. See they only give us a month and in that month teachers only teach our history for a week. Miseducate us to justify their actions by say we are no good savages lower then animals because they are wrong for what did to us. Truth is we are so strong (a super power) if we could just bond together. We to busy marching and screaming for justice but we become so contented with the law to enforce it.
  ......................
It's painful knowing that we still haven't been accepted in a place we live in.
Some people don't take it seriously but Michael Brown is not the first Trayvon Martin isn't even the first  for every black youth that is killed for racist reasons. Is another slave being lynched, another Emmett Till Im sure you get the picture but people have the audacity to say it isn't important. Black on Black crime is done everyday. So is White on White crime but its a big deal to them when a Black man kill a White man. My question is how much could we just take settling for washed up apologizes and "it was a mistake". Think about the others who story hasn't been heard or known. The ones who death is still a unsolved mystery, the ones on death row for crimes they didn't commit? It goes way deeper then just two young men they are and always have been killing our generations!

Anger: Can ruin your life!

For the past few days I have been angry as hell about past events. Doing my anger burst I have realized how anger could ruin the life of many people. Anger at some point gives birth to vengeance.
You develop an urge to get that person who have hurt you back for what they have done to you. I won't go into details about what ticked off my anger burst but I will say that you should not let the events of the past, make you get out of your character now.
I'm not saying that you shouldn't get upset, a lot of us are human and we can't control our emotions but there's a difference between feeling and doing.
For everytime you smile at a enemy that's a point for you on your good chart. For everytime you show those who showed you evil kindness thats a stitch on your wounds. Learn how to forgive,  and when I say forgive I'm not saying  be a fool and fall for the tricks of the evil again. I'm saying free yourself from the heavy grude you are carrying by say it ok I forgive and I love you. You have no idea of what kind of chains you may have broken on your self if you just forgive.
Forgiveness is not easy its sometimes the hardest thing to feel pain and anger and still the person who cause it that you love them, but just do it.
Anger will ruin your life! It really would ruin your life! You would eventually become a slave to your anger. You would wake up angry,  go to sleep angry,  and plot on getting revenage. You are not hurting that person by being angry and holding grudges. Your just picking at your scab until it bleeds.
The mind is the devils playground he has away of putting things in your head that aren't even true.
He also have away of  turning  your anger into hatred then turning your hatred into vendetta and the next thing you know you have done something that you regret.

Let go and let God!

The Race Card!

In the past week or so, there has been a rave about the Donald Sterling racist comments.
Many people that know me probably wonders why I haven't spoken on this topic just yet it as simple as racism is not a brand new issue.
So instead of addressing racism on its own the question really is "What is the African American community doing in this matter?".
It seems that our people are just satisfied with him being banned and fined for his racial slurs.
This man like many others still have a slave master mind set. He and I quote stated " I gave them jobs, food, and houses" not once did he talk about the talent of his African American players nor the fact that with out them his team would simply be a bad investment.
Donald Sterling is just a brand new face and name of how some people still think about our race. How free are we?

A few months ago I read an article about Yolanda Spivey and how she applied to job after job with no avail and as soon has she changed her name into a European name and applied to those same jobs how she got calls from each of those jobs.
It's an eye opener the only thing she change on her resume was her name.

Racism still exist it might not be as
acceptable as it use to be but wait how acceptable is it?
I find this disturbing how when a Caucasian make comment about our race a large group of people play the it ok to have your own opinion card. Don't get me wrong it is ok to have your own opinion but when your opinion effects a group of people it's not ok! The judicial system is racial too. They scream justice for all but at the same time African Americans are judged more harshly then our white counterparts for the same crimes. its not just whites that are racial.

We should stop racial profiling in our own communities. Yes I'm talking about African American being racial towards each other. We talk about our own race in such ways that let other races see that it's ok to do the same. We to judge " she ugly cause she black" "why she so dark" and etc. what is that telling others when most of our race prefer lighter skin over darker skin?

Sara Barrtman was an South African woman. Who was brought to France decades ago. The white man she worked for promised her fame and riches. His idea was to use her enlarged body parts (breast, butt, and vuvla) as a show for money. She was touched by many amaze white men and women. She became a sceincetific study because it was abnormal to have such large body parts. When the Hottentotten Venus show ended she turned to positution as a way to survive and keep up her drinking habits. She died at 25 years of age from a infection. They couldn't even  respect her in her death they made a mold then mutilated her body preserved her parts in jars in order to still study her.Her story is sad not just because of her life but because of how she was degraded because her body looks like many African American Women's body and how black women of  today  willingly  do what she was forced to do and have the audacity to call it beauty.
The fact that our men consider an enlarged butt more beautiful then a pretty face and good moral values.

Instead of getting upset about racial issues. You should take a stand. See what the NAACP, have posted and let your voice be heard, or you could simply just write a blog such as I did. It starts with us no race can respect a race that doesn't even respect themselves.

In my opinion there shouldn't be any race issues. God created us all. We are all brothers and sisters. There's isn't going to be a "Whites Only Heaven".

Who are You? A quick way to figure out who you really are and who you want to be!

A few days ago. My mother asked me, Who do you want to be? Of course in a sarcastic tone I replied " I wanna be Tatiana"That question buried itself in my head and for the first time. I asked myself  who am I?
I then started thinking about a few great people. Then I came to the conclusion, Martin Luther King Jr wasnt known as just Martin  Luther King Jr, Oprah Winferey isn't known as just Oprah Winferey,  and Tyler Perry isn't just know as Tyler Perry. I'm sure you catch my drift. Each one of them are not know for there name alone, but for the amazing  things they have done. If there work was the same and their names where different they still would be known for there amazing  work.
So after dissecting the question " who do you want to be" into "who do I want to be known as". Many things popped into my head, and It had nothing to do with just being Tatiana Shakeela Mclellan Omari.
Before when I asked myself this question the answers where like " a writer, a mom, a wife and etc."
Not realizing that all these thing are easy to accomplish without being specific. Anyone could be a mom but all mothers aren't great, for example.
After realizing that I realize that I want to be known as someone who is a reflecting of God's  Love, A wonderful Wife and Mother, A Writer who can use my talents to heal many broken heart, entertain, and educate, A woman who does what she can to make someone else life easier,A person others can look up to, A person who create the things that poor urban communities need, and most of all I want to be me.
Wait before you say " isn't  thats what you were preventing from saying" Yes, I was when it had no meaning, I now know that I want to be me in the sense of never forgetting my roots, remembering to be humble, stay loyal, and never forgetting to laugh.
With all of these things being said "Who do you want to be? Comment Below!

The Society: Homeless and Hunger

I find it a shame that in such a society such as America we actually have homeless and hungry people amongst us.
I find it shameful that with all the abandoned property in this state that they're homeless people who rather get thrown behind bars for petty crimes then be cold in the streets all winter.
Believe it or not homeless people are just like you. People who go from pay check to paycheck and at some point those paycheck a stopped and the found themselves in a situation.
Here's the reality about homeless people and who they are. Their the thrown away adults that were once children without a family, The unemployed who at some point worked, The mentally disabled without caregivers and some of the sweets people who could ever meet in your life time.
I believe that if this society treated there homeless people differently that the world would be a better place. No should have to walk around all day with their belongings, yet they're expected to obtain employment. No one should have to be out to roam the streets at 6 a.m every morning until 9 p.m every night. No one should have to bundle up in the terminals at the bus station when winter hits and No one she have to sleep in a ally way behind a abandon building scared cold and alone.
For these people they're life is at danger everyday. The are the subjects of hate crimes, rapes and murder.
Just because they have no home they are treats as stray dogs. The most painful thing is seeing a fellow human being digging in garbage cans for food and sleeping in a train station.
When they're are property they can clearly stay in instead of letting it go to nothing.
Anyone can become homeless so the next time you see a homeless person think to yourself how did this person get here and if your brave to ask I'm sure you'll realize they're just like you!

The Sociey: Hanicap and Elderly

Why are Hanicap ans elderly people treated such ways? Today is going to be a real brief segment being that I'm trying to refere people to this site to see of their legit and its free I would provided a link below so help a sister out after all its free.
Back to the topic the Lord has made everyone prefect in his eyes so why do people treat the hanicap as if they are monsters, forbidden creatures, and less then a human being. Just because they're different after all no two people are the same. We aren't more human then they are nor are we more superior.  We should help them in any way possible and learn how to let them be independent when they want to do things alone. Make friends with them, don't they deserve friends.

Elderly People are the wise. In every other countries they treat their senioe citizens with the up most honor.  Why is it different for this country. It's ashame to see those who have made it so far in life be thrown into homes and left there to be mistreated because their love ones. The ones that they worked so hard to raise and provide for in theie younger days no longer want to put up with them. The elderly are the veteran's of this country they built this country yet most of us see them as a burden! We need to stop ! No elderly person should have to go hunger, be scared, or wonder how they're going to manage.
A few months ago I lives next door to the elderly lady who always begged for me to spend time with her. Being that I'm the type of person who dont play house hopper I hesitated so one day I decided to go over just to do something nice (my good deed of the day) and I learned that she was the baby of 9 children and she was the only one left. Her daugther jusy syopoed coming to see her and etc.  After laughing and talking and a little makeover she was in tears and said that she felt human again!
It broke my hair knowing that she felt unhuman at some point.

I would talk about the homeless but that's a topic on its own. No one in the country should go homeless nor hunger has the world gotten so money hungry that we have became heartless and selfish? Just something to think about!
